The Story

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. 1 Oct. 2024. Our last full day before going home. We had an early start, 6am, to try and see the wildebeast migration cross the Mara river. We did (oh how we did! It was incredible!), and after watching wildebeasts for more than 3 hours we were ready for a change of scenery. "Let's go find some crocodiles!"

They were not difficult to find, snoozing all along the river, big impressive dinosaurs. But one was active, pushing around a big black blob in the water. The big black blob turned out to be a dead, bloated, floating buffalo, and the croc was pushing it to a more convenient eating spot. Once there he proceded to rip off chunks, happily munching away.

But most of his friends already had their fill. A little further away more wildebeast were crossing, completely ignore by two massive crocodiles. One did a halfharted lunge, but didn't seem very into it, and another just looked annoyed that his sunbathing was interupted.
