The Story
Once upon a time there was a tiny frog. The smallest of all his hundreds brothers and sisters. Because he was so small, all the others pushed and pulled, and he always ended up at the end of the food line. So our little frog was also a hungry frog.
But he was smart too. In time he learned all the hiding places of his brothers and sisters, and stole their food when they slept. The little frog was never hungry again. Until he got caught stealing the food of his oldest sister. She got mad and cursed him. That he would never be satisfied.
Now, nobody knows if she was a witch’s familiar, or just got lucky, but the curse worked. The tiny frog got hungry again. He ate all the hidden food. He ate all the small flies, and then all the big flies. He ate the fishes in his pond, and then the next, and then the next. It was never enough.
By now the not-so-little-anymore-frog started looking outside his normal habitat. He ate the mice and the rats, then the cats and the dogs. The sheep were next, and not before long the horses were gone, followed by the elephants and the hippos. He ate and he ate and he ate, until he devoured the whole world. But it was still not enough. So he ate the next planet and the next, until he reached the sun. He swallowed it whole. And in the resulting darkness, he was still hungry.
Legend has it that he still roams the stars, searching for that one thing that will keep him satisfied.
