Adrift

Bright and beautiful!

 

I am adrift.

Floating along, a universe of possibilities around me that don't seem to fit.

My life is on hold. A time to get some peace, to relax, to find myself again.

Also a time where I think too much.

Where do I belong? What is my purpose? Do I even have one? Or maybe a better question: Do I need to have a purpose?

A little tidbit about this painting: In 2017 I made a series of galaxies. They were cute, but simple, and at some point I decided they didn't fit my current style. They were destined to be reused.

This jellyfish started out as one of those galaxies. Initially I intended to start with a clean slate, to gesso it over. But I found I still like it too much for that, and it actually was a perfect background for my intentions. So it stayed. Even the signature on the front. A little reminder.
